Prysm iO scanning device, winner of the 2025 BIG Innovation Awards

Prysm iO

$499.00

A palm-sized scanning device that measures skin carotenoid levels in seconds using patent-pending Spectral Rai™ technology.

What It Is

Prysm iO is a non-invasive scanning device built on patent-pending Spectral Rai™ technology: place a fingertip on the sensor, and a 15-second scan takes 700,000+ hyperspectral absorption measurements to assess light absorption in the skin. An AI-driven algorithm referencing Raman technology converts these measurements into your Prysm Score. There's no blood draw and no fasting required.

How It Fits Into Your Prysm Journey

This product sits within the Support step of Measure → Understand → Support → Re-measure: scan with Prysm iO, review your Prysm Score, support your habits, then re-scan to track change.

How to Use It

Turn on the device by pressing the power button. Place the pad of your index finger over the lens — the scan begins automatically and the lights circle for 15 seconds. Don't remove your finger during the scan. When it's done, a single flashing light shows your Prysm Score colour zone. Best practice: scan on a flat, level surface, with a clean, dry finger, using the same finger each time for consistent tracking. If a new scan isn't started within 1 minute, the device automatically turns off.

Prysm iO measures skin carotenoid levels only. It is not a medical diagnostic device and does not measure every antioxidant in the body. It does not diagnose, treat, or predict any disease.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a scan take?

About 15 seconds — place your index finger over the lens and hold still while it measures.

Does it hurt?

No. It's completely painless — you simply place a fingertip on the device.

How accurate is it?

Prysm iO takes 700,000+ hyperspectral absorption measurements per scan and is built on over two decades of carotenoid measurement research. In a Nu Skin clinical study of 46 adults, a Prysm iO prototype tracked carotenoid changes similarly to the established BioPhotonic Scanner S3.

Do I need to fast or prepare before scanning?

No fasting, blood draw, or special preparation is required — the scan is non-invasive.

Where do I see my results?

Your score appears in the companion app immediately after the scan, along with a history of previous scans and AI-guided recommendations so you can track changes over time.

How is Prysm iO different from the Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner?

Prysm iO uses Spectral Rai technology, combining hyperspectral absorption with AI calibration referencing Raman technology. The Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner uses Raman spectroscopy directly. Both measure carotenoid levels; Prysm iO is faster, smaller, and lighter, with easier calibration.
